Consultation on Artificial Intelligence: Australia's Ethics Framework

The LIV has provided feedback to the Law Council of Australia's submission on the Consultation on Artificial Intelligence: Australia's Ethics Framework.

The LIV provided detailed feedback on the proposed principles for the Ethics Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Australia and suggested amendments to the principles for a more effective implementation of the framework.

The LIV suggests that the fundamental starting point of an Ethics Framework must be that "your data is always your data" and says defining artificial intelligence is vital for the effective enforcement of the Ethics Framework which involves potentially serious consequences for people, intended or otherwise.
