The Law Institute of Victoria has submitted a supplementary submission to the Legislative and Social Issues Committee for the Inquiry into Anti-Vilification laws in Victoria.

The LIV have previously submitted a submission to the Inquiry outlining the need for reform of the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act.

The LIV’s submission reinforces the same recommendations made in their first submission, and further illustrates that reform to Victoria’s current anti-vilification law is needed, to prevent racist and vilifying conduct as resulting from emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
