Caffeine hit for lawyers

Caffeine hit for lawyers

After a stint on MKR, lawyer Zana Pali used her skills to take a different career path... Zana Pali and Gian Romano thought being contestants on the cooking show My Kitchen Rules would be a nice break from their day jobs as lawyers. “I've always loved cooking,” says Ms Pali, whose grandparents emigrated from Montenegro, part of the former Yugoslavia. "Food was very much a part of our lives as we were growing up." Mr Romano joined his wife on the show when her grandmother had to pull out. “I thought it would be a nice change of scenery from the law – like a little holiday,” he says, laughing. Instead the couple was swept into a whirlwind six months of extreme competition and 15 hour days. "It was very full on, a lot of pressure and crazy hours," Mr Romano says. "There was more pressure in that kitchen than in any courtroom."
