COVID Update

The 2022 LIV Legal Fun Run & Walk will be delivered in a different format to ensure it is in accordance with the Victorian Government’s guidelines.

Our priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of all event participants, staff, volunteers and the broader community.

Please note that LIV will continue to work alongside local stakeholders and authorities to ensure the event is safe for all and still offer participants a great and memorable running experience.

Participants

All participants must adhere to COVID advice at the time and will be rquired to scan an event QR code upon entry.

Race Bibs

Race bibs and BBQ vouchers will be mailed to participants to reduce crowding at registration.

Start Times

Staggered start times will be in place to reduce crowding and ensure social distancing is followed.

Hand Hygiene

Hand sanitiser stations will be available for all participants, staff and volunteers.

Hydration

Participants are encourage to bring their own water bottle or hydration pack. Water bottles will also be available.

Signage

Signage will be used around the event site as a reminder to adhere to the COVID guidelines.

  • Registration

    How do I register to participate in the 2022 Legal Fun Run & Walk?

    Registration is now open! Choose to participate in the 4km walk, 4km run or 8km run. The 4km walk and 4km run are both individual events. On the 8km run registration page, you will have the option of particpating as an individual or a running team of three.

    How do I register a team?

    Teams can only compete in the 8km run and must be made up of exactly three participants. When registering for the 8km run, you will have the option to register as either an individual or running team at checkout. If you select to run as a team, you will then be asked to provide your team name. Once you have filled in your details and have navigated to the confirmation page, click "add registrant" to register your first teammate. Once their details are entered, click "add registrant" again to register your third teammate to the running team.

    How many people can I have on my team?

    You must have exactly three members on a running team. Teams are only permitted for the 8km run.

    Will I be able to register family or friends who are not LIV members to be on my team?

    Yes, you can add non-members to your team at checkout.

    Are there cancellation fees if I withdraw?

    Refunds are not available for change of mind cancellations, however, you can tranfer your registration to a friend or colleague.

    Are there cancellations fees if travel restrictions prevent me from attending?

    If you are unable to attend due to travel or COVID-19 restrictions, please contact the LIV events team. You will have the option to transfer your registration to the next Legal Fun Run & Walk (tentatively set for November 2022) or you can obtain a refund.

  • Event Day

    Do I need to check in when I arrive?

    Yes, you will need to check in with a QR code when you arrive.

    Where can I collect my race bib and timing piece?

    To ensure social distancing and minimise crowding at the start of the event, your race bib and time piece will be sent to you via post. Further details will be released shortly. Early registration is essential to ensure you receive your bib and time piece in time. Late registrants will be able to collect their race bib and time piece on the day. A collection table will be open from 5pm and will be located near King George V Monument.

    What food will be available?

    A BBQ voucher will be attached to your race bib, which will be sent to you via post in advance of the run.

    What drinks will be available?

    Water will be available to all participants.

    Where is the start line?

    The start line for the 4km walk, 4km run and 8km run is King George V Monument, St Kilda Road, Kings Domain, Melbourne, 3000 (see map).

    What are the start times?

    All runners (4km and 8km) will start at 6.05pm sharp. All walkers will start at 6.20pm sharp. Please note: we may implement more staggered start times to ensure adequate social distancing, depending on advice at the time. Please check this page for updates. Registrants will also be notified of any changes via email.

    Will there be a place to leave my clothing and bags?

    Where possible, please minimise any additional items you bring to the event. Contactless bag drop off at the marquee will be available.

    Where can I get changed? 

    Changing facilities will be available at the public restrooms located near the registration marquee. 

    Will I be able to get my results on the day?

    Only runners will be timed. We are able to announce the winners of the race categories on the day. Full results will be available on this website by 5pm on Tuesday 1 March 2022.

  • COVIDSafe Event

    What COVIDSafe measures will there be?

    There will be a number of measures in place to provide a COVIDSafe environment for participants, staff, volunteers and the legal community, which will abide by the health and safety regulations laid out by the government at the time of the event.

    COVIDSafe easures may include:

    • pre-event health screening of participants
    • QR code check-in for participants and spectators
    • additional cleaning and sanitising of high-touch areas
    • hand sanitisation stations throughout the event sites.

    There will be a dedicated COVID-19 safety plan in place to plan, implement and monitor these measures and address any new COVID safety challenges that may occur during the event. In addition, there will be regular communication across all digital channels in the lead up to the event, as well as clear signage, PA system announcements and additional support from event staff and volunteers at the event. Any changes will be communicated via email in the lead up to the event, so please be sure to monitor your inbox.

    The Legal Fun Run & Walk is held outdoors with ample space for all participants and spectators, and is designed to deliver a safe and enjoyable experience. We ask all participants to follow the health and safety advice in the lead up to and during the event and seek the support of our event staff if they have concerns.

    Will I be required to wear a mask?

    The requirements to wear a mask will be in line with the Victorian Government's health advice at the time of the event. We will monitor this closely and will provide updates where necessary. For more information and guidelines on mask wearing, please visit the Victorian Govenment website.

    Is there a COVID-19 cancellation or postponement policy? What happens to my registration if the event is cancelled?

    If the event is unable to take place on Monday 21 February 2022 due to COVID-19 restrictions, it will be postponed until November 2022. Your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date. Alternatively, you can contact the LIV events team by email to receive a refund.

    What happens if travel restrictions prevent me from getting to Melbourne?

    If you are unable to attend due to travel restrictions, please contact the LIV events team. You will have the option to transfer your registration to the following Fun Run, which is set for November 2022, or you can obtain a refund of the event fee.
