    This practical workshop enhances your knowledge of the most critical components of the Retail Leases Act 2003, along with important VCAT and Supreme Court decisions that have influenced the application and enforcement of its most critical provisions.

    Kate Broome, General Manager Retail Lease Transactions, Vicinity Centres

    Kate is currently General Manager Retail Lease Transactions at Vicinity Centres. Kate has 15 years’ experience in private practice and in-house in all aspects of property law, including:

    • Buying and selling commercial, residential and retail property;
    • Advising institutional investors on all aspects of the management of their property portfolio including centres under development, negotiating major tenant and specialty tenant leases and advising on retail tenancy issues across all Australian jurisdictions;
    • Property management agreements and development management agreements; and
    • Due diligence enquiries.

    Kate’s previous experience also includes working for UNIQLO as their Chief Legal Officer during their Australian expansion before commencing in her current role at Vicinity Centres. Kate currently manages a team of 27 lawyers, paralegals and administrative staff who are responsible for the preparation, negotiation and finalisation of all major tenant, flagship tenant and specialty tenant leases in the Vicinity Centres portfolio of nearly 70 shopping centres.
