Some frequently asked questions about our new website.
Q. Why did the LIV build a new website - what was wrong with the old website?
The new website was redeveloped to offer members and the community a new user friendly website, which includes an improved search feature, easy to use menus and navigation, plus a simple content structure informed by member focus groups.
The new website offers a range of ways to locate information, and allows the LIV to communicate and engage with members and the community more effectively.
The old site website did not allow the LIV to meet the growing needs of our members and the community for the long term. The new website utilises technology which allows LIV staff to maintain and add content to the site easily by using a simple web browser based content management tool.
This enhances the opportunity to ensure the site remains fresh and up-to-date. The new technology is also scalable and more powerful so we can develop and deliver wider, more effective and sustainable online services in the future. We can also leverage this technology to develop collaborative communities and other social networking channels to enhance communication exchange between sections and interest groups.
In addition, the layout and design of the old site made a lot of information inaccessible - with content buried under many levels. The incorporation of a mega menu and deep footer with related content links on each page gives visitors to the website information at their fingertips.
